Guide to Mizuhiki cords
Mizuhiki is a tranditional Japanese art that uses special paper cords.
The paper is tightly wound to give it stiffness and density. The resulting paper cord is then coloured and patterned in a wide of ways.
The cord can be used for making decorative knots and jewellery.
Decorative knots can be used for many purposes such as card making or as a decorative feature in gift wrapping (rather like using a ribbon).
Traditional Mizuhiki knots were used to symbolise a joining of people we love.
